Mandelieu-la-Napoule was settled by the Romans about 2000 years ago. The façade of the port is still dominated today by a magnificent fortress, which was destroyed and rebuilt several times over the past centuries. The Villeneuve family built it in the 14th century, before it became a glass factory in the 19th century.
